I offer professional guidance to identify therapeutic programs and mental health placement resources for your struggling child, teen or young adult. I will help you make well-informed decisions to benefit your child and your family's growth. My practice is 100% dedicated to this work. 

Appropriate therapeutic programs can be difficult to identify, and missteps costly. When in times of stress, it is all the more challenging to know how to determine the best fit. I provide insight and guidance to navigate leading-edge mental health, substance abuse and neurodiverse programs, identifying the best options for your loved one's circumstances. I am a resource to you along your journey.

​How I Can Help

 There are vast differences in program types, academics, expertise, and therapeutic modality. Finding the one best suited to your specific need is everything therapeutically. So how do I do this?

Insight

​As a practiced therapist for at-risk and troubled teens, I can understand your child's struggles, diagnosis, strengths and family system dynamics.  I partner closely with your family and child to first understand their unique history, challenges and strengths to determine the strongest likelihood for a positive treatment outcome. 

Guidance

I continually tour in person and stay in contact with therapeutic schools and programs nationwide. I visit facilities, wilderness teams in the field, sit in on clinical meetings, interview front line staff, and meet current students. I can help you make a well-informed placement decision with excellent, safe, accredited programs. 

Knowledge

Attending mental health subject matter conferences keeps me abreast of leading edge, evidence based, treatment practices. I attend over a dozen per year, to know who is truly leading in their field whether they be founders, clinicians or the front line staff working with your child every day. I also consult weekly with a nation-wide network of colleagues keeping each other up to date about program performance and client outcomes. I can guide you with insurance advocacy, special education lawyers, or crisis interventionists as well.

Dedication

I am well-positioned to advocate for your family by maintaining a connection with the program staff throughout the treatment journey. I provide continuity from one professional to the next, helping maintain your child's momentum. Healing from mental health and substance abuse challenges is a complex, often bumpy road. As your resource throughout the journey, you will have my support.

I'm a thorough researcher, advocate and sensitive advisor. I intentionally run a small private practice, based on referrals from trusted professionals and past clients, ensuring my time is focused on your family. 

My commitment to this work is evident by my dedication. I travel every month visiting field sites and program campuses, conferring with programs and colleagues. I attend subject-matter conferences all over the country assuring I stay on the leading edge of the treatment field.

I was serendipitously referred to Talley by another parent who raved about her. In a moment of absolute desperation and despair about placing my 14 year old daughter, who has multiple diagnoses, including anorexia, PTSD, and suicidal ideation, I reached out to Talley, who listened to me with such compassion. Talley directed me to resources to start turning over, and soon after, I had an active IEP case. Our situation was complicated by the eating disorder, which basically eliminated nearly every RTC. Talley was tireless in finding facilities that would take my daughter. She found an interim place to treat her between the eating disorder residential and the long term RTC. All the while, her deep care did not falter- not even when dealing with an unreasonably testy attorney who was on our side! During many moments of hopelessness, she was persistent and professional, and in the end, got us into what is really the best facility my daughter could be at. My child has stabilized and is performing the highest she has since her trauma. Talley is a godsend to our family. I know we are one of many, but seriously, she helped save my child’s life.”

Talley is extremely educated around the facilities and different therapy programs.  She helps to match up the needs of the student to the program, making it a good fit for both parties.  She speaks the language and made sure that my child received the appropriate level of care, even working to bridge the care gap that could have happened when we needed to change programs.  Her expertise and assistance literally has saved us from not having a single option, and our child's needs being overlooked, to now having several professionals invested in their care."
